Principles of ethical hacking
Where we study the patterns, tools and techniques of hackers. You are not allowed to give away to right to not be hacked because if you don’t own the domain then if you hack a site then you are hacking a company. The most common hacks are on weak passwords. With the passwords hackers can use that password and use it with different sites to exploit vulnerabilities so then hackers can get your details and information.
What is encryption?
Encryption is creating a system or barrier so that information is able to be shared on the internet with relative privacy or security. Creasers cipher is an ancient form of encryption to be able to make sure that if messages were ever intercepted they would not be able to get that information because the letters of the message is changed around with a code. The drawbacks of this encryption is that it is simple and easily able to be cracked and then once it is cracked then it is always cracked. Humanity then made it harder to crack codes by scrambling each letter individually. A good example of this is the enigma that was used back in world war two that was extremely encrypted with many keys and got changed around every day.
Keys?
A key is the code that you use to be able to decrypt a message. For example there is a key that uses ten different letters to encrypt a message to make it hard to be able to crack but a computer would be able to crack that easily so today we use a 256 bit key so that it would take a very long time for a computer to crack it
A/symmetric keys?
A symmetric key is a key that everyone shares, and everyone knows it. But an A symmetric key is a key that only your computer knows and will be able to use so when someone shares something with a symmetric key but only your key is able to figure out what that message is. It is like you have a mailbox that anyone can open and put a letter or a package in it put they can’t take anything out but you have a personal key that only you can use to open that mail box to see what is inside. You can put anything in anyone’s mailbox, but you can’t open anyone else’s and no one else is able to open other peoples. Basically, an A symmetric keys are the foundation of all security on the internet.
https in a URL has better security than http as https has ssl which means secure, sockets, layer. We moved to this because it made sites more secure as http sites were getting cracked and once you crack something it is cracked forever. A lock on a website also means that it is more secure because as it means that there is encryptions on the site to stop it being hacked,
